HIPPY End of the Year Celebrations & Graduations

It’s graduation season! The feelings of accomplishment and success that come along with this special moment are empowering. Last week I had the opportunity to attend end of the year celebrations and graduations with our Colorado HIPPY Programs. There aren’t enough words to describe the power of emotions experienced during these events. Parents, children, home visitors, and staff celebrated together after 30 weeks of fun learning at home.

“I had challenging days during the year. Due to personal circumstances, I had to go back to work and combine school, work and home visits. I was about to leave the program, but my home visitor trusted me, she was very patient and most importantly she empowered me to continue. My son Max has been in HIPPY since he was 3 years old and now he is ready to continue a new adventure in Kindergarten. My older daughter graduated from HIPPY years ago and now she is in elementary school and is an outstanding student”  – Maria Moreno, Focus Points HIPPY

I shed a few tears during HIPPY graduations. No shame. I congratulate each and every HIPPY parent for their dedication and commitment to being their child’s first and most important teacher. I would also like to give a standing ovation to the home visitors, who week after week bring activities and resources to the families enrolled in the program. Thank you for collaborating with Parent Possible to create Stronger Families, Today and Tomorrow.

– Jackie Cordova, HIPPY Program Director
